Think where man's glory most begins and ends and say my glory was I had such a friend.

W.B. Yeats

This is a "ghosty" cake for my three year old granddaughter's birthday. Don't know why she wanted a cake with ghosts on it but her Mom did a great job.

Why Boise?

Took my son to the airport this a.m. for his flight to Boise. The flight was overbooked and he was anxious he wouldn't make it. I was anxious too because I didn't want to go back to the airport to pick him up.

So why are so many people going to Boise? What's the big attraction? Is it the potatoes???

Idaho is a land locked state. But upside down it looks like Florida:)

Christmas Day in the 1940s.

My granddaughter, Lauren, hanging with her pals. This great park was a frequent destination for Lauren and her parents when she was a toddler.

Tom, Tom and John
This was apparently a party for my sister Pat in Iowa. I wasn't there but found this in my Mom's photo album. Fun to see my brother John without a beard.
My Dad doesn't look all that happy.

STUDY IN BROWN
Mary Rose in her brown hat sitting on Grandma's brown couch. Cute picture of a cute kid.

THE KISS!
Tom and Mary O'Connor greet each other in Chicago at our family reunion. This was a much anticipated moment for their seven children. I was able to capture the moment for posterity.

This is a photo of my daughter Dianne in a dress. She is also wearing a squash blossom necklace. Her hand is on our oak table where many fine meals were served at our home on Pine Lake in Issaquah.
I have no idea what the occasion was. Perhaps she can enlighten us all when she sees it.
Dianne has two children of her own now and serves delicious meals on that very same table.

Tractor in Snow

Alki Driftwood

An unexpected sunny day in October 2010 on Alki Beach in Seattle, WA.

Girl In Red Hat

I discovered this photo that I had taken a few years ago and really love it. My intention at the time was to chronicle my granddaughters exuberance of running in the sand. She is not headed for anything in particular but every chance she gets, then and since, is to run as fast as she can with no particular goal in mind, except to be free.

A quote from a poem by Yeats:

"Dance there upon the shore
What need have you to care
For wind or water's roar
And tumble out your hair
That the salt drops have wet"
